FootFall - Virgin Retail
As part of a UK-wide campaign to modernise and optimise performance, global music retailer Virgin Megastores has introduced cutting-edge customer counting and analysis systems across its network of UK retail outlets. Virgin worked with Experian FootFall to implement the system which has allowed it to analyse footfall trends and gain an unprecedented understanding of customer behaviour in-store.

FootFall - Marks and Spencer
In October 2004, Marks & Spencer launched a new look for its stores and approached Experian® company, FootFall to help it measure the true impact on the business. The company had trialled other customer counting systems in 1993, 1997 and 1998 but found various limitations. The data produced was biased towards head office use rather than store use, there had been wasted opportunities to use the data effectively as there was no easy way to merge all the information that was being produced, and there was also some question over the accuracy of the results. For this reason they were keen to work with FootFall to deliver a cost effective solution with an accurate data management service, along with a user friendly reporting tool

Actron - Serra Shopping Center
Serra Shopping identified the need to measure the amount of people and cars entering the center, as well as understand which entrances are used the most and what the peak times were for each entrance. This would enable Serra to better understand the traffic flow over the course of any given day and compare it over time.

Actron - Ikea
IKEA started a project in 2001 with the purpose of improving conversion rates and better scheduling staff to meet customer needs through the analysis of customer flows and movements in the internal zones.

In partnership with Irisys, Tesco devised the “One-in-front” camera system, consisting of heat-sensitive cameras backed by highly sophisticated software that has already paid real dividends as it helps store managers minimise queuing.
